自転車発祥の話なのかどうかわかりませんが、自転車乗りが時々引用するこんな話があります。

走らない（＝練習を休む）理由を探せば１０でも２０でも見つかる。

でも走り続けるヤツの理由はただ一つしかない。「走ると決めたから」。
